Why is Kuro's ship called the Bezan Black?
"Bezan" is the mizzen, the mast at the very back of a ship. Kuro never fights in front. He pulls the strings from behind.
So I make short videos about the small things in it. Why Kuro's ship is named after its back mast. Why Shanks smiled when a bandit put a gun to his head. What Bellemere's name means in French.

The 5-minute one about Zoro's cursed sword is where I say the most, including why I'm doing this at all. The rest are under a minute. All in English.
(the eighth is a 10-second thank-you for 100 likes on Instagram. it's on the channel, hehe 😄)
02 · Notes
Every video starts with one small detail in a panel. A few I've found so far:

"Bezan" is the mizzen, the mast at the very back of a ship. Kuro never fights in front. He pulls the strings from behind.

"Now that you've drawn your pistol, are you willing to use it?" To a real pirate, a gun isn't for threats. It's for putting your life on the line.

In Japan, Muramasa's real blades were feared as cursed. A cursed sword looks for someone whose ambition burns hotter than its curse. That day in Loguetown, it bowed to its master.

In French, belle-mère means stepmother. Read it word by word and it's also "beautiful mother". She was both.

In Japanese, buchi (ブチ) is the word for a spotted coat, like a patchy cat's. "Nyaban" is a pun too. Oda named them like you'd name a pet.

Twenty years stuck in a chest on that island, and he wasn't really alone. The strange animals around him had become his treasure.
and the one that started it all: I keep notes on 300+ chapters. Chapter 291, Noland and Kalgara, is the chapter that made me want to start this channel. I haven't made that video yet.
03 · How it's made
I'd rather you hear it from me. The wooden toys aren't carved by hand. They're made with AI image tools, then fixed in Photoshop. This is every step one video goes through.
"Every video ends up different. The longest steps are the script, the references and the pictures."
Re-read the chapter. Check the SBS and the wiki. Chase the Japanese word, the sailing term or the real history behind it.
I pick the angle, the mood and the ending, which is usually something personal. ChatGPT, Claude and Grok help me draft and polish the English.
Every 10 to 20 words gets its own manga panel and camera angle.
Clean the original panels in Photoshop and remove speech bubbles, so every pose stays true to Oda's drawing.
PhotoshopAI turns each scene into painted wooden toys. Then I fix what it gets wrong by hand: fingers, scars, sword blades, the wood grain.
Nano Banana Pro · Google Flow · PhotoshopThe narrator is an AI voice. I tune the delivery, then clean up the audio.
Google AI Studio · AuphonicSlow orbits around each still scene, so the toys feel like they're sitting on a table in front of you.

"Like sailing into open sea. No guarantee. No retreat. Right now, I'm still standing at the shore. But one day, I'll raise my own flag."
I'd love to make a living from this and keep going for a long time. Money pays for the tools in the list above and the hours between videos.
The free kinds of help count just as much. At 8 subscribers, one share really moves the needle.
